30 mintues
Requirements
- 120 ml whole milk
- 200 ml hot water
- 135 g mashed potato powder
- 20 g cornstarch
- 1 teaspoon salt
- 1 egg
- Frying oil (for frying)
- Piping bag with flat nozzle
- Deep fryer
- Mixing bowls
- Whisk or mixer
Instructions
- Pour the 120 ml whole milk into the 200 ml hot water in a bowl and mix well.
- Add the cornstarch and salt to the mashed potato powder and stir the dry mixture a bit together.
- Add the egg to the dry mixture and mix until a uniform mass is formed.
- Then pour the milk and water mixture in. Mix well until you have a smooth mixture without lumps.
- Take a piping bag with a flat nozzle and fill it with the batter.
- Heat the deep fryer to 175°C.
- Once the deep fryer is heated, pipe the batter into the hot oil as shown in the video. Fry the fritters until golden brown and crispy. This usually takes a few minutes per batch.
- Remove the fritters from the oil and let them drain on paper towels. Serve warm as a snack or side dish.
Tips - Ensure the oil is hot enough before you start frying for a crispy result.
- Use a piping bag with a flat nozzle for even fritters.
- Experiment with herbs or spices in the batter for extra flavor.
