  1. Heat water: In a small saucepan, heat the water over medium heat until it’s warm but not boiling.
  2. Mix ingredients: Stir in the peanut butter until it starts to blend with the water and becomes smooth.
  3. Add seasonings: Add soy sauce, brown sugar, ketjap manis, sambal oelek, curry powder, and minced garlic. Stir well to combine.
  4. Simmer and adjust: Let the sauce simmer gently on low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking. Add lemon juice to taste for a hint of acidity. If the sauce becomes too thick, add a splash of water or coconut milk.
  5. Taste and adjust: Adjust with salt or extra sambal if you prefer more spice.
  6. Serve: Pour over fries, meat skewers, or veggies and enjoy the snack-bar experience!
